it's official!

Greetings from Knit Cafe is on Amazon.com! I am so, so proud to have been a part of this book- in addition to being lucky enough to have four patterns inside, I was also a witness (hopefully a supportive one!) to much of the hard work that Suzan has put into the creation of the book over this last year. I think she did a wonderful job of pouring her fun, chic aesthetic onto every page. Some little things I love about the book (without giving anything away):
- At the photo shoot? Even the lone guy learned how to knit. On cashmere, actually- he said that he wasn't sure if he would like knitting, and if he was only going to make one thing, he wanted it to be nice.
- Every designer and every model is a part of the Knit Cafe family- customers, staff members, friends, family. Which is the way to go, I think. Across the board, we all were thrilled to bits that Suzan was writing a book... and then to get to be involved ourselves was just the coolest, period. Period.
- Getting to collaborate on my designs with Suzan, and being a witness to the process of other designers as well, was an amazing learning experience. Sometimes everything was fine and I was given the go-ahead on the first submission, and sometimes it took months of swatching before we had a great marriage of colors, yarn, and stitch pattern before I could even begin to write a pattern or knit the garment. Rather than being frustrating, it was a great lesson in not settling for something less than exactly what you want.
- The store wallpaper on the cover makes me very, very happy.
- Knit Cafe really is a warm, special place, and it shows.
There are so many patterns in there that I want to knit... geez, I wish I could say what they were! All in good time, my pretties, I suppose. For now, I'm just going to geek out on Amazon.com and search for the book again, just to make sure it is still there.

I have put the book on my Amazon wish list.
Congrats!
(I wish the laughing Nicole was on the cover, though!)
p.s. has Beth stopped her blog?
