amazon woman

You know, sometimes Stephanie is contagious.  I have been laughing at her hunting missions to find her book in the stores, and then, after I finish reading, I click over to Amazon.com and track my order- I pre-ordered the book, knowing darn well I was going to like it.  Anyway, it isn't coming.  The estimated delivery date isn't until May, even though if you click on the page for the actual book it says it ships in 2-3 days.  I am trying to be all Zen and faithful that it is going to be shipped soon, but in reality that just isn't my personality and I keep hitting the "where's my stuff" button obsessively.  And then I order a few things from my wish list... MH the book whore strikes again.  Now I remember where all my money went before I was knitting.

Proud teacher moments: the sock workshop finished this week!  I had a lot of fun teaching the group, and I hope I sucked some more members into the sick little cult of sock knitting.  Check out the smiling faces and happy feet:

That's Julie, Hope, Erin, and Genita... and a guest appearance by Jenny's socks- look on the table!

mollydone.jpgMolly is the first Knit Cafe Kid's Club kid to finish her sweater from the sweater workshop- she had free dress day at school yesterday, so came in on Wednesday to finish her embroidery.  I love the funky, mismatched sleeves!  She did a great job- you should check out her seams!  The sweater is cozy, and adorable.   I got permission from Molly and her mom to post her picture online, and if the rest of the kids and parents give the OK, I'll post their pictures, too.  The sweaters are all looking beautiful- when customers walk in the store with the Kid's Club in progress, their jaws drop!  Actually, once I had to laugh because someone came in and was talking right next to the kids- not to them, just next to them, about "how cute they all were, sitting there knitting," and one of the girls looked up at me and Suzan and whispered, "it's like we're animals."  I heart the kid's club!

A nice email from Anna reminded me that it has been a little while since I've posted any pictures of my knitting.  I've been knitting mostly on something I'm not allowed to post pictures of, but of course I have some bus socks going- anklemomwheel.jpg socks for my mom.  Who needs some serious good wishes right now- not only did she throw her back out this weekend, wind up in the emergency room, and have to delay her trip back home for a day, but then yesterday while driving home from work she was stopped at a stoplight and got rear ended by an 18-wheeler!  She is OK, thankfully- but for the second time in a week was whisked off to the emergency room in an amulance.  I'm sure it didn't help her back at all- and her car was totalled... anyone want to send my mom to Hawaii?  I can't quite swing it right now.

Anyway, I have extra motivation to finish my little mommy gift, so I can ship it off right away.  I'll take pictures of the socks tonight!

I'm sorry I'm contagious. I suppose it wouldn't suck so much if I was saner, but you can't have everything. Kiss your mum for me, poor thing...she must be a lovely person to still be smiling in that picture.

Just FYI you might want to contact Amazon about the delivery date. Two weeks ago I placed an order for two items that were both available to ship within 24 hours and when I didn't receive them I checked and they had the delivery date listed for mid May. I contacted them and there was obviously something wrong so they overnighted the stuff to me. Sounds like they have a technical glitch if it is happening to you too.

Your mom looks adorable in that pic. Sending happy thoughts her way! And how fun is that picture of Miss Molly in her sweater! What an accomplishment!

Hope your mom is up and running soon...and that kids knitting club looks so fun! That can be a great age to work with, if you get 'em pre-sullen and disenchanted...though that can be nice too. Although I always want to scoop those type of kids up in my arms and reassure them that it will all be OK...or, contrastly, they should save up their angst because it's only gonna get worse. Depends. heh. xoxo
