hello, socks
Thanks so much for your nice comments about the patterns, everyone! So sweet and exciting. Yay! Thank you.
I have really been on a sock kick lately. Right now, I'm knitting another pair for Jacob - Gentlemen's Fancy Socks by Nancy Bush (from Knitting Vintage Socks). Nancy Bush patterns are always enjoyable to knit. I just... trust her socks, you know?
Hello, socks.
I am modifying this pattern slightly to fit Jacob's feet - in the pattern, you work decreases down the leg, but I know that the "starting" cast on number of stitches is a perfect fit for him using Lorna's Laces yarn. So no decreases for me, and I made the leg a bit shorter to be sure to have enough yarn. Chugging right along on these - my purse project.
Other knitting status:
- Polo Shirt: Blocking! Fits perfectly. Can't wait to take pictures tomorrow.
- Hush-hush Blankie: Knitting done, patched flannel backing pieced together and so cute. Need to iron the backing, baste it to the blankie, and do the quilting. (This will be my first ever quilting attempt.)
- Wedding Shawl: Slowly spinning, enjoying every moment.
- Ribbed Lace Bolero: This is a new one... I saw it on my Friend's Activity page on Ravelry yesterday, and it all snowballed from there. First I faved the pattern... then I went back and printed it out... then I went back to Ravelry and put it in my queue... then I realized that I have some pretty, cozy green cotton yarn - and the Bolero would be such a perfect fall-in-Los-Angeles project... next thing I knew, I was climbing in my closet last night to bring down the yarn, and now I'm almost halfway done with the whole thing. Fun!
