first socks, second pair
I just love this pattern: Child's First Socks in Shell Pattern, by Nancy Bush (Knitting Vintage Socks).
I've knit them before. I'm pretty sure I'll even knit them again (I want to keep a pair for myself). They look beautiful, and the stitch pattern is fun; just engaging enough to be interesting, but easy to catch on to visually so I just barely need a pattern for reference. I love the solid pair in the book, but I also think it looks amazing in Bearfoot, which is my dreamiest sock yarn - that halo! Those colors!
I started these as a gift for my aunt, who moved into a colder climate this winter and mentioned in an email that she was always chilly now. I emailed her right back and told her, "I'll knit you some nice wool socks! They will change your life." Pretty nice of me, right? Well, for one reason after another, I've been making ridiculously slow progress on these. The good news is - now that we're getting close to summer, and the humidity levels are rapidly rising where my aunt lives - these cozy, warm, wool/mohair socks are just about ready to finish and send. At least she'll be ready for next winter, I suppose.

I love the socks! Could you tell me what color Bearfoot you are using?
Thanks,
