summer

signs of summer:

future pickle!

garden growth, tiny vegetables taking shape...

Caricia progress

light and lacy knitting...

a new game for the puppy (not really a puppy anymore at 14 months and 90 pounds!)...

365.365 (grateful)

sudden summer storms...

That last photo was taken as my final picture for the 365 days self-portrait project. Caught in a storm on the mesa with Charlie, I could only smile. Walking back to our house (over 3 miles, maybe more like 4, in the pounding rain - thunder, lightning, the whole deal), I grinned from ear to ear. When I say I'm constantly wishing for more rainy days, I mean it! And this was weather drama to the max. The trails smelled so good. So good. I can't even describe it - like summer rain, wet earth, sage and lavender. Beautiful. After almost a year here, we're still finding so much to discover. It's nice.

After a year of self-portraits (a year!), I found myself, at the end, missing this blog and journaling here. Feels good to be typing down some thoughts again. :) Of course, now, a couple of weeks away from the daily photo habit, I'm completely missing that little action and part of my day, too! I didn't really expect that. I think I'll start the Year in Pictures project... not needing to be self-portraits, just pictures, every day, for a year. I think I'll start it today! Yes, I will.

I'm so happy to see your garden growing! Mine isn't doing so well. Maybe I should have actually done some research instead of winging it!

Congrats on a successful 365!

I was also craving rain when we were in Central California...now that we're back East that craving has been more than satisfied!
You've also reminded me to try and get something in our wee garden plot...which is only full of weeds right now!

Love that picture of you! Congrats on completing 365.

Living in SoCal for several years has made me appreciate rain and storms in a way I never did before. And how the air smells so clean, and so clear, afterward. It sounds wonderful to be outside in the midst of it.

Ahh summer, it's wonderous. We were recently trapped at an Arts Festival by rain. It was quite the cozy evening. :)

Beautiful signs of summer. Your pupper is gigantic! Seeing your video reminded me of this one with another pup loving water.
