it rained and it thundered and I did it anyway

Thank you so so much for your encouragement on my last post! I feel really motivated to stick with the Couch to 5K - having fun so far! (I feel like I should point out that I'm not *quite* at the "couch" level, I don't feel, since I walk a good 2 miles every day with my dog, but hey. I sure am a beginner runner!)

Today I finished Week 1! There was a thunderstorm coming in, I was out in the beginning of it, but it felt so good to follow through and not use that as an excuse. This one was a breeze except for some calf cramps about halfway through (I did about 10 seconds of stretching during one of the walk intervals to work it out). I felt like I could have easily kept running at the end of each run interval... which is great, because next week I'll have to. Har.

Before the playlist - I have to share the sunset photo I snapped two nights ago (just after writing my last post). Just a quick photo taken with my iPhone in my backyard, but oh my gosh - this town really knows how to put on a cloud show!

OK! Today's playlist!

  • Dirt of your Shoulder (Jay-Z)
  • Break my Body (Pixies)
  • Discotheque 36 (Black Francis)
  • History Town (Mos Dub) (seriously get this album if you don't have it. free + awesome)
  • The Hardest Button to Button (White Stripes)
  • Feels Blind (Bikini Kill)
  • Human Behaviour (Björk)
  • 6'1" (Liz Phair)
  • Sexyback (Justin Timberlake)

This weekend there will be so much knitting (no, really - SO much), some gardening, and, as always, lots of cooking. Ah, Friday at beer o'clock is a good time, indeed!

The couch to 5K is so cool. Congrats on gettin' it done this week. I have to admit I am slightly tempted to try it because I really hate to run. I'll let you test the waters while I try and get off the couch. Keep up the good work.

What an amazing sky.

Good luck with the running! I'm also building up to running 5k - I definitely recommend Kanye West for running, especially Jesus Walks!
